Description
Paleness of the inner eyelids or palms is a well-recognised clinical sign suggestive of anaemia. Routine haemoglobin screening facilitates early confirmation and enables timely nutritional optimisation and appropriate therapeutic intervention.
During World Anemia Awareness Week, we encourage healthcare professionals to proactively evaluate patients presenting with pallor, fatigue, or reduced exercise tolerance. Targeted counselling on iron sufficiency, dietary measures, and adherence to prescribed therapy plays a key role in supporting recovery and improving outcomes. Early recognition of clinical signs remains essential in preventing complications and enhancing overall patient care.
